After months of planning and grand advertising for the launch of The KNUST School of Business’s 20th Anniversary, the day finally arrived on June 2ND, 2025, and it was nothing short of glamour, colour, legendary impact, and success reflections.
Prof. Ahmed Agyapong, the current Dean of the Faculty, reflected on the success story of the KSB, we were introduced to how the school was launched on the 19th April, 2006 on the backs of sharing classes with other colleges, with 75 undergraduate students, 75 postgraduate full-time, 59 Part-time postgraduates, 38 Executive MBA, 20 Phd students with a 8 full-time, 4 part-time, and 10 adjunct lecturers with the assistance of other lecturers in other disciplines of the University. From the outset, the expanding growth of KSB is visible. In such an August event, the introduction of outstanding keynote speakers is such a delight as they assist in motivating the students; hence, there were Mrs. Hilda Nimoo-Tieku, Esq, the Managing Director of JOBBERMAN, and Dr. Daniel McKorley, the Founder and CEO of McDan Group of Companies. Mrs Nimoo-Tieku, in her inspiring speech, highlighted the importance of having soft skills away from only building a celebrated certificate.
“The world of work has changed drastically, hence focus on what you can do, not what you studied?.......embrace and excel in every action of work, take initiatives, have a growth mindset, and be work ready.”

She expressively said. Her presentation visibly showed how grit, passion, agility, soft skills, and digital literacy are the major essentials in this day and age of the work market. The valued man familiar in the eyes of the students, Dr. McKorley, made an utmost presence with his words of advocating for service in the community of work. “Be present, make actionable plans, be ready to serve, and seek good counsel.” These were great words that will sit in the minds of the students. Furthermore, the Provost of The College of Humanities of Social Sciences, Prof. Charles Ofosu Marfo, alongside The Dean, Prof. Ahmed Agyapong, and assisted by Kwaku Ahin Boadu, the Educational Relationship Lead for West and Center Africa, launched the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA)’s resource centre, opening it to support students who want to pursue a career in Accounting, and promising to broaden the students' perspectives on Data Science and Organizational Value in areas of Accounting. Alumni present were highly honoured, amongst them, included The Ga-Mantse, His Royal Majesty, King Tacki Terkuo Tsuru II, who studied Strategic Management and Executive Consulting during his time of schooling. This event showcased the beautiful merge of great coordination, teamwork, focus-oriented personnel, pure excellence, resilience, commitment, sacrifice, leadership, and improved advancement in technology.
