The West African Institute for Supply Chain Leadership (WAISCL)
The West African Institute for Supply Chain Leadership (WAISCL) - KNUST, is a Supply chain management (SCM) focused education, research and training unit within the KNUST Business School. WAISCL is collaboration between KNUST School of Business (KSB), the PanAvest Foundation and Dr. Douglas Boateng. The WAISCL project is housed within KSB in Kumasi Ghana. Currently, WAISCL is the first of its kind in the sub-region it hopes to establish international partnerships with both industry and academia in order to enable it to provide cutting edge research that is industry relevant as well as provide world class training solutions and executive education.
WAISCL’s research focus areas are under three main themes:-
- PSL - Procurement and sourcing leadership
- LTL - Logistics and Transportation leadership
- OVCL - Operations and Value Chain Leadership
These research themes are in line with WAISCL’s vision of bringing together thought leaders and forward-thinking practitioners to create novel research agendas, undertake ground-breaking supply chain action research, and develop enduring sub regional knowledge, innovative practice and customized solutions that address Ghana and sub-regional supply chain challenges.
